Saludos desde Panama! Our first full day here (Thursday) has come and gone. We accidentally started our day an hour early because our phone did not adjust to the time change! Oh well, that gave us more time to enjoy breakfast, get to know another mission team from North Carolina at the lodge, to hear about how and where they are serving God, and to have leisurely devotions.
As we prepared to travel from the Panama City area to Chame where the WoL Camp is located, we discovered a stink bug on a suitcase that traveled with us from home! Bernice and I (Kim), being concerned about encounters with Panamanian bugs, never dreamed we'd be dealing with our dreaded stink bug here! The unfortunate stowaway met a circular, watery demise.
All three of us have spent time here before, so it was a sweet reunion for us with the WoL workers. There were new faces, too. We had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with the new Director of WoL Chame, Jose, and his wife, Marcella. What beautiful servants of God! Marcella led us in a time of devotion and prayer in preparation for the Women's Conference. Another sweet reunion was for Bernice and her daughter, Liana, who is studying here at the camp for nine months in the WoL Discipleship School. There are three students from The Bible Chapel taking part in the program: Cassidy Tom, Trenton Morris, and Liana.
Our afternoon was spent preparing for the conference. Haleigh and Bernice, along with several of the workers, organized the gift bag items so that we could easily work together to fill the bags. Traci and I made a trip to Price Mart for the groceries and other supplies needed. (Riding with Traci is always an adventure!)
